Easter Nails!

Hi guys,

My blogs aren't really the same as they used to be, I don't have as much time to paint my nails and experiment with makeup anymore, and as I work with animals alot of the time, its often not worth it haha! So my blogs will be little snippets of my life now rather than just nail art. Hopefully you guys will still find what I write interesting :)

But I've broke up for easter now, for three weeks!! If only the weather was like it was last year :| Anyways, in between work, catching up on some z's, and selling anything i can get my hands on on ebay, I have managed to do a bit of nail art! :)

Here's what I did for easter :D

I used Models Own for the base colours and the white details, and Barry M white crackle on the thumb :)

The bunnies were sooo hard to do on my right hand! I managed it but they weren't quite as crisp as these haha!

Also, like I mentioned the weather hasn't been great. Its sending me round the bend so who knows how all the wildlife feels. Today I saw a fox just sitting in next doors garden, enjoying the peace and quiet :)



As its spring now I'm wondering if maybe there are a couple of cubs in the over grown garden :D going to keep my eyes peeled from now on! I'll keep you all posted :)

 

Finally... I'll be listing a lot of stuff on ebay this weekend, books, purses, maybe some clothes and maybe some bracelets :D so feel free to have a browse :) I've got to do a work placement next year so I'm trying to raise some money towards it :) every little helps.

Merry Christmas To All!!

Hope you all had a fab christmas :) I know I did :)

Thought I'd share some of my christmas nail art with you all.

The first one is a quick mani I did for my sister. She already had the pink polish on so I just painted over the top.
I painted white on the ring finger and limited edition barry m blue on the little finger and index finger and topped it with the barry m limited edition glitter (they were 3 for 2 in superdrug).
I added silver and pink glitter to the tips of the pink nails.
On the white nail I used different shades of blue pink and green to create little dots in the shape of a christmas tree :)
A quick cute christmas mani :)

The second I painted on my moms nails. I used a shimmery cream for the base coat. I used a red and green Models Own glitters for the tips.
On the ring finger I painted a christmas wreath. I used a dark green and then a slightly lighter shade on top to create the wreath. I then used a red shade to add the details and bow.
I used the same colours to create the two small wreaths on the thumb.

Thought I'd do a quick nail art post seen as how I've been quiet for a while :)

I have a minor obsession with owls at the minute. I loveeee them :) anything owl related distracts me, so what better opportunity for some nail art inspiration!

I used a nude vase colour and some gold glitter for the edges of my nails. On my ring finger I used nail art paints to paint the owl, starting with a dark brown then adding the details. I also painted a gold feather on the thumb nail :)

Ruleee Britania!!

Hi guys :)

This year has been pretty good for us Brits. I missed the queens jubilee because I was on holiday, but I really caught the Olympic fever.

Initially I hadn't planned on watching much but I thought the opening ceremony was brilliant, and I ended up finding myself screaming at the TV most nights. Some of the highlights for me were Mo winning double gold and I was pretty happy with our equestrian medals :)

So like many of us, I decided to show my pride with a new mani :) I know it's late now but with the para olympics a few days away I thought I'd it show you guys anyway :)

The blue is Barry M navy, the white base is Models Own and the glitter is also Models Own :) For the heart, I painted the union jack first then went around it with a black nail art pen.

Just Another Mani Monday!

Hi guys :)
I had a fab weekend down in Weymouth, eating fish and chips and walking round the arcades. The B&B that we found last minute was gorgeous. Really nice and clean.

Well it's back to the wild ways of Wolverhampton. In tribute, I thought I would show you a few leopard print manis that I have don't over the year.

I'm not sure what order these photos will show up in because I'm using the iPhone blogger app, but here goes.

First up, blue and yellow leopard. Both models own colours with the nail art pen for detail.

Second, I used models own lilac for the base coat then sponged on a mint green half way up the nail. Once it had dried I used the nail art pen for the leopard detail.

Finally, gold funky! I used Barry M metallic gold for the base coat, then just splodged on a bright blue and pink polish for the spots, which I then went round with the nail art pen to create the leopard effect.

Hi guys :)
Me and the family are going to Weymouth today for a little weekend break.

We got off to a great start. My dad missed the junction for the M5 and we ended up half way to birmingham, even though he has been driving to weymouth for years and years! We all had a good laugh at him.

We booked in with Victoria by the sea. It hasn't got the best Internet reviews but we were struggling to find somewhere to cater for all six of us, so we thought we would give it a go. Well, they called us at 9 o'clock to inform us that we couldn't have our rooms because they had double booked -.- needless to say my mother was not best impressed. I would not recommend booking with them ever as the other hotels told us this was a regular thing. Anyway we sorted it out we are stopping somewhere else now :)

My nan has got her happy shopper full of food and is currently passing round the sandwiches for the tenth time, followed by, "sausage roll anyone?" It's all good fun.

Any occasion wouldn't be complete without a new mani :) I thought I'd give the dream catcher design a go.
For the base colour I used my Nails Inc nude that I got free with a magazine a while ago. Then I used my nail art pens for the detail.

Purple Aztec

Hi guyss,
I've always wanted to have a go at doing some Aztec nails so I had a bit of a crack at it a while ago :)
I decided to go with purple and gold to match my beautiful shoes that my auntie brought me for my birthday :D

Here's what I used....

 I started with the Barry M lilac foil effect for the base coat.

I really like these foil effects because they dry really quick.

(mine are a little messy cause I was in a hurry)

Here's the pattern...

• I used the Barry M Gold foil effect to add the strip just below the middle of the nail.
• I then used the Models Own Nail Art Pen to outline the gold.
• I added a black zig-zag line towards the tip,
• and a black filled in like at the bottom,
• which I added small gold dots to.

They are a tiny bit messy because I was in a hurry to go out.

I like the pattern and the colours though :)

I think I will have a go at this design again at some point

Maybe with some pastel or neon colours for spring/summer :)

Percy Panda

Hi guyss,
I love cute rings so when I saw Accessorize's plastic Percy Panda ring on sale! I snapped it up :) And naturally, I did a mani to match :)

Here's what I used..

•  I used the Barry M Blue Moon for the base colour
  (which took four coats because its really runny -.-)
• I used the Models Own Snow White for the pandas,
  painting a small semi oval shape on the tips.
• Once the white had dried I added the ears, eyes and tiny nose
  using the Models Own Nail Art pen.
• Once the black had dried I added another white dot for the eyes,
  using a white nail art pen.
• For the bamboo on the ring finger I used the pale green and yellow together
  to create the shoot.
• Once that had dried I added the black detail with the Nail Art pen.

I like this mani, its pretty cute :)

Paws Up!

Hi guysss,
As I said in my earlier post I went to see Ed Sheeran on Tuesday.

Well my boyfriend brought us some bands from the merch stand and I was looking at them today and I just couldn't resist doing a mani to match :)

I used Barry M Black and Bright Orange....

Half way through doing the orange paws I realised they were upside down -.-

But I carried on just to take some photos for you guys...

This was a really quick mani, it took me about 10 minutes,

granted I did only do the one hand because of them being upside down -.-

I had planned to leave it on as it matched my sequin fox jumper pretty well...

But what can you do :)

Well that's my quick post for today.

Mmmm Cake

Hi guyss,
:D its my birthday!! So me and the boyfriend went to see Ed Sheeran last night which was rather good :)
An we are going for a meal tonight, then I'll be partying on Saturday! :) And I'm due a shopping spree so I'll have some new things to show you all :)

Now I've bored you with what I've been up to :) here's a cupcake nail art I tried out on my sister....

• I used Barry M Yellow for the base coat
• I added a small strip of a pale brown for the base of the cake
• Then I added dark brown stripes once the paler brown had dried
• I added the white on top, making it rounded and curved
• Once the white had dried I added dark brown dots and a small red dot.
• Finally I added a bit of red glitter on top and covered it with a clear top coat

So guys :) what'cha think?

Merry Christmas! Sorry I'm late :)

Hi guyss :)
Haven't posted in a while I've been busy busy over Christmas. I went to London the week before Christmas, a nice treat from the boyfriend :), it was great and amazing. We did lots of touristy stuff and loadddss of shopping :D
And, not to let an opportunity pass me by, I did some London themed nails with a hint of Christmas :D

My little finger nail broke the day i did this which is why i had to just cover it in glitter. Its safe to say I'm no artistic wonder but I think they are pretty cool :) and the lady in Oxford Street Lush also liked them haha she got so distracted by them she had to ask me to repeat what I'd said :P

"Baby its cold outside"

Hi guys!!
More Christmas themed nails!! :) I've found that my white nail art pen tends to chip very easily so I've had to re-do my sisters nails, which resulted in a new Christmas nail art post :D what more could you want on this chilly Thursday evening :)
Here goes....

:) I love this. The thumb penguin looks a bit gloppy because of the camera flash, I ensure it looks much cuter in real life :P I am really enjoying these festive manis :D
I'd also like to say I'm really enjoying seeing everyone elses Christmas nail art :) Its where I get my inspiration from so thanks you guys :)

"I'm Dreaming of a White Christmas.."

Hi guysss,
First of all I'd just like to say thank you to everyone for your nice comments and for reading :)
It's nice to know people out there are enjoying what I post :)

Anyway here are some more of my Christmas nail art...
This first design is on my sisters nails,

I used Barry M Silver Foil Instant Effects for the snowman base coat.

I really love this mani! I love how the trees turned out and the snow man :) Even if I did get a fair amount of polish on her fingers lol I still love it :) It did take a long time though, waiting for each colour to dry before adding the next.

This next one I did on my own nails, it was a heck of a lot quicker and really easy :)

Yummmy?

•  I used Models Own Becca's Brown for the base coat.
• Added the white icing with a thin brush.
• Then I added the holly detail.
• Finally I added gold glitter on top of the brown just to get it a bit of sparkle

"Won't You Light My Sleigh Tonight!"

Hi guysss :)
As promised here's some more Christmas nail art, and if you didn't guess by the title these are reindeer based :)
First I did my own nails with a simple design & it gave me a chance to use my new Barry M limited edition glitter.

I think I might have been a little bit drawn in by the sparkly lid because the nail varnish is just like any other glitter polish :\ never mind :)

I painted the accent nail white and added the reindeer design on top, then added some silver glitter to the background.
(These didn't last long because I smudged Rudolph's nose :\ )

My second attempt was on my sisters nails, she let me go all out on hers :P

For her nails I used a white base coat, added the design, then I added some red glitter to the nose and a shinny metallic glitter to the white. The glitter and shine doesn't really show up on the photo though, they look very festive in person, I promise :)

I added a cute simple Christmas tree to the thumb but the flash on my camera has made half of it disappear

You'll have to use your imagination lol

'Tis The Season :D

:) eekkk I'm so excited for Christmas!! My 14 year old sister told me she was worried about my mental stability yesterday while I decorated my room :| but I don't care :D

Anyway! I've been itching to do some Christmas nail art and here is my first attempt...

Little bit messy I know but hey ho! I used Models Own Red Alert and Gold Rush.

For you regular readers, you'll know I recently discovered the wonders of Lush.

Well I thought I'd treat myself :) After all it is Christmas :P

Just a Quick One - Nail Art

Hi guys :)
Just a quick one about a couple of nail designs I've done this week...

First, I painted my mom some brown and gold tips

And I added a little flower pattern to the ring finger :) (which she soon smudged -.-)

AND.. here's my attempt at some classic acid wash denim

I got in a little bit of a mess :P But heres how I did it...

• I used Barry M Navy for the base coat and waited for it to dry
• Then I added a white coat on top and waited for it to dry
• Once it was dry I took a cotton bud, dipped it in nail varnish remover and gently rubbed it over the white coat.
• I removed more white is some places to create the effect
• TIP dont rub too hard because you dont want to take the blue off too.
• Wait until its all finished and add a good clear coat.

Simple :) So what you think?

Sssnake Nailsss

Hi guys :)
I saw these snake print nails on another blog a while ago, so I thought I'd give it ago.

I used Nails Inc Basil Street (which I got free with Glamour Mag) for the base coat.

Then I added four chocolate brown diamonds.
Finally I added the black line detail with my Models Own Art pen.

It looks even better now I've added a clear top coat.

Winter Wonderland Nails

Hi guysss :)

As promised here's another winter inspired nail design.

I thought I'd have a go at sponging :) to create a snowy effect. Its an effective technique but pretty messy :)
Here's how I did it...

• I used Barry M Navy for the base coat (two coats if you want a really deep blue)
• Then once the blue was dry I dripped some white nail varnish onto some paper
  (it would probably be better to use something like foil because the varnish did soak into the paper)
• Then I used a small make-up sponge, dipped it into the white, and blotted it on top of the blue.
• Less is more, its best to start at the tip with a faint coat and gradually build up the colour.
• For a bit of extra sparkle I added some silver glitter on top of the white. If you wanted to bling it up you could add a few silver nail gems :)

Show Your Spots For Children In Need!

Hi Guyss!!
This Fridays its Children In Need and I'm very much into the spirit of it this year, we do a lot of fundraising for CIN where I work :)
Soooo seen as the opportunity for themed nails came up I thought I'd give it a go :)

This is such an easy design and I found it dried very quickly :) I used the CIN wrist band I brought for inspiration. Here's how I did it...

• I started with a white base coat, and waited for it to dry.
• Then I added the yellow and red dots, the two traditional colours for CIN.
  If your in a hurry you could leave it at that. 
• I then added the blue and green, filling in the gaps :)

Easy-peasy!

Hi guys
Just a quick one today for remembrance day. Poppies are getting bigger and better every year with different varieties being sold :)
Here's my contribution to today with my poppy nails,

I did tidy them up after :) I've painted my nails as well as my moms and sisters. We are showing our support for the poppy, with all the who-har about banning them -.- I won't get into a political rant but I think its hugely disrespectful.
I hope your all showing your support today :)
