Animal Craazzy SpiritHoods

Hi guys,
I've recently come across these cute 'snood-like' things called SpiritHoods. I personally think they are really cute but I'm a little unsure whether they are just a tiny bit eccentric.
They come in a range of different designs, Wolf, Bear, Panda, Leopard, even an Owl.

They are quirky little things that come with their own 'personality'. For example the Wolf is Loyal, Social, Teacher. I also like the fact that when you buy SpiritHoods with the ProBlue logo, a percentage of it goes to non-profit organisations trying to help animals such as wolves, polar bears and snow leopards.

SpiritHoods seem to be growing in popularity with many celebs...

They seem to be making it pretty well in America but we Brits are a little bit more subtle and I think if i walked down the road with a wolf on my head, I might just get a few odd looks. On the other hand I really do like them :) I might just embrace the quirkyness!

I have a feeling these might start becoming more and more popular in the UK as they have recently made it onto http://www.asos.com/ and Riverisland have come up with their own take on the animal hoods...

There is one little problem...getting one.I know I have mentioned that Asos sell SpiritHoods, but they only stock four different ones, compared to the dozen on the SpiritHood website. And I'm a try-before-I-buy kinda girl, so I don't really feel all that comfortable forking out one hundered smackers for a hat I might not wear :\
I do really love them but I just can't make up my mind :\
So what'cha think? Any comments are appreciated :)

Cute Critters :)

Hi :)
Just thought I'd show you guys my latest creations. I've had a bit of an animal theme going at the minute :)

Here's my first design that I've done on my sisters nails...
Apparently her friend really likes giraffes... kids eh, don't ask. I used Barry M Lemon for the base coats and a brown nail art pen for the details :)

Now, I don't know about you but I'm not a great fan of feet so I was unsure of whether to post this but it was too cute I couldn't resist...
Little Penguin! teehee. I'm really happy with this, its just a shame its too cold to wear sandels now! Suits really, cold & penguin (soz bad joke). I used a white base coat and a black nail art pen for the black detail, and orange nail pen for the little beak :D

Anyway guys :) What'cha think?

Nail Art (Beach Scene & Tips)

Hi :)
Here are some of my latest nail art designs using my new pens :D (for those who were asking, the set of 80 cost me £23)
The first one was a bit of wishful thinking ;) I know the summer is over but I love this beach scene. I'd seen a few designs based on the beach so I decided to have a go at it myself, using my sister as the Guinea-pig :)

I used No. 7 blue for the base coat on all nails. I added white clouds and little birds to the finger nails. Then, on the thumb, I used yellow for the base of the beach and added gold glitter on top, to shades of metallic blue for the sea (lighter shade at the front, darker at the back) and added white foam. Finally I added the little boat, birds and sun to the original blue base coat :)

And here's my second design...

I used Barry M Peach Melba for the base coat, white for the tips and gold glitter pen for the detail. The edges need tidying a little but I wanted to wait until they had dried.

So :) What'cha think?

New Nail Art Pens :D

Hi guys,
A while back I mentioned about how you could get a load of nail art pens from eBay at a good price :) Well I brought the pack of 80 :$ and they arrived this week :D

I haven't had much time to play around with they yet because of being back at sixth form and working, but here are a few practice runs :)

First I just tested out the brushes by adding different colour flicks to a base coat.

I also painted some stripped tips, using a gold base coat and black stripes.

And this one I was a little more experimental :D I tried to create a floral pattern using pinks and greens.
I'm gonna have to buy some new pastel shade base coats because this one was really gloopy and took foreveeerrr to dry :\

Here are the colours I used for this design :)

I think I'm gonna have a lot of fun with these :D just got to find somewhere to put them all :| haha!
So what do you think?

Nail Art :) (Melon and Pac Man)

Hi :)
Thought I'd show you guys a couple of nail art designs I had a go at.
This first one I did on my own nails but I'm not very good at doing my own tips. I attempted a watermelon design. I used Barry M Coral for the base then just and old white, and a metalic green nail varnish for the tips. I used my Models Own pen for the seeds.

Each coat didnt really dry before I put the next colour on because I didnt have a lot of time to do these and as you can see I got in a bit of a mess :P I'll attempt this again when I've got more time :)

The second design I did on my sisters nails :) I decided to do a Pac Man inspired design for a bit of fun :P
I used different colours for each base and my Models Own nail pen for the detail :)

So what'cha think?

L'Oreal Eye Shadow Test

Hi :)
You never know if a new make up product is really going to do as the adverts promise, the models are always airbrushed, with false lashes, hair, nails, the work! So I thought I'd do a little review for you. I said in my last blog that I was going to put my new L'Oreal Infaillible Eyeshadows to the test :) So here we are. I wore 014 Eternal Black and 015 Flashback Silver, which I blended together. They went on very easily and create a bold colour without any base primer.

I went out clubbing so usually my make up is next to nothing by the end of the night!
Here's before ...

I blended the silver from the inner corner of my eye to the black in the outer side.
Here's after...

Not bad?

The black faded slightly at the corner, but this is the longest lasting eye shadow I've ever used. I didn't use any primer or staying aid, I just applied the eye shadow using a sponge tip brush, then blended with a soft brush. I'd defiantly recommend L'Oreal Infaillible Eyeshadows for their staying power :) You can pick these up from Boots for £6.99, and they are in the three for two offer :)

Hope this has been helpful :)

Just a Quick One (ModelsOwnNails)

Hi :)
I'm going out tonight, so wanted some quick but nice nails. I didn't do anything fancy because I'll have to take it off tomorrow morning for work. I decided to use my Models Own smash up nail paint that I brought from boots. I used the Lilac Dream as a base coat and then the purple Smash Up nail paint. It didn't take long and they dry pretty quick. This version of crackle paint is probably my favourite. I was getting a bit bored of the conventional colours, this purple is the nicest colour I've seen yet :)

You can pick these up in the three for two offer at Boots at the minute :)
Tomorrow I'll show you my tried and tested Loreal Infailiable eyeshadows, seeing if they are as long lasting as they claim, and if they can withstand the wear and tear of teenage clubbing!

Barry M Beauties!

Working up town is a big hindrance to my bank balance. I end up detouring from normal route to the bus stop, through a few shops :) Today I had a little spending spree in Boots.
I took advice from Look magazine's tweets and made the most of Boots 3 for 2 offers.
First of all I brought this little beauty!
I saw a similar pen featured in the 5th September issue of More! on 'The High Street Edition'.

The Ink Outliner from popbeauty.co.uk is a similar product that costs £10! (and I couldn't find it on the website). The Barry M Wink marker was only £4.59! Less than half price!
I've never been a big wearer of eyeliner, simply because I can see well out of my one eye -.- so when I shut my right eye everything is a bit blurry, which makes it terribly difficult to draw straight. Very unfortunate. I've tried everything, even liquid eyeliner is still a bit tricky, but this fab little beauty is sooo easy to use, even for me aha. Here's my first attempt, its not perfect but its a heck of a lot better than using a pencil :|
I defiantly recommend this to people who are iffy with eyeliner! I love it.
I also brought two Barry M eye crayons, one of which I got FREE on the Boots offer :) I've not tried these before, I've always gone for conventional powder eyeshadow.
They are pretty tricky to get the hang of at first, and I could do with some lighter colours to blend them with.
I think they would make a good base coat for the Dazzle Dust. Oh well just gives me another excuse to go shopping :P

Thanks for reading :)

Just A Few Things :)

Hi everyone,
Few things I'm going to mention today, this weeks edition of Look and More! mag and an online shopping experience that you should watch out for.
First things first I love the True Blood special in Look this week :) my favourite TV show, and it doesn't get as much hype as the likes of Twilight, so it was a nice change.
The Trend Of The Week article was a little odd. Not only do we have to go out and buy bags in every size, colour, pattern and fabric you can imagine, but we now have to be conscious of how we hold them :\ I always thought that's what the handles were there for, but look at me being all conventional.
However, I really enjoyed the story "These Women Earn £50K..." It gave me a little bit of hope that if all fails at uni, there is other ways to make money :)

More! magazine delivered again this week. I always look forward to reading Men Overheard, (my boyfriend usually has a sneaky read too aha) My favourite this week was about the "casual chicken".
The High Street Edit this week featured Andrea Fulerton Nail Art Pens, which I very nearly brought myself a few days ago. My advice to anyone who wants to experiment in nail art, hit ebay! I know I've been raving on about my Models Own pen, and it is great, but I've manage to pick up 80! colours on ebay for £23! The Fulerton pens are only £3.99 each which is cheaper that the Models Own £6 but they only come in three different colours. So if your looking to experiment, you can get sets of 24 pens for just under a tenner!
Also in More! I really enjoyed the "It's Show Time..." feature. It's not very often you get a underwear feature in glossy mags, and I can personally vouch for one of their choices on "It's Black & White". I have the Ann Summers set myself and they are amazing! Well worth the money.

Finally, to both magazines, I enjoyed seeing someone new on the cover! Its usually Cheryl Cole or Rhianna.

Now, I'm going to grumble a little. I received an email Sunday night informing me that Monday would be the last day of the Dorothy Perkings extra 20% off sale items, so I decided to make use of it. I brought three tops which arrived Tuesday. When they got here they were too big, so I wanted to exchange them. After scowering the website, there was no option for me to exchange the items, only return them. So I thought right I'll go in store and ask them. Nope! I was told I'd have to get a refund and buy them again online. Well after paying £5 delivery, and the fact that the extra 20% off had ended I'd be loosing out more money if I brought them again. So now I don't have any new tops and I've paid £5 for the privilege -.- cheers.
So my advice would be to double check returns and exchange policys before buying online.
Hope you enjoyed reading :)

More Nail Art

Once my little sister saw my nails, she wanted me to do hers. So following my last post about Models Own Nail Art Pen, heres my latest design.

For this one I just used a simple Asda's own mint nail varnish (£1.50) to create the tips and spots. I added a little bit of glitter over the mint, it doesn't show up too well on the photo. Then I used the Models Own pen to detail the leopard print.
My sister has agreed to be my guinea-pig for nail designs, so expect to see more of these :)

Home Made Nail Art

I love having my nails done, but being a student funds are low, so I tend to do them myself and the more unique the better. Yesterday I came across Models Own Nail Art Pen and I must say money well spent! Its great for creating funky designs and pretty detail, and its really easy to use.
For my first attempt I created this jazzy leapord print style using Models Own Lilac Dream as a base coat, then splogged on a some coral spots, which I then went round with the Nail Art Pen to create the leapord print detail. Easy Peasy!
I just hope they bring out some more colours.

AND! If you head to Boots you can pick up Lilac Dream for FREE when you buy any two Models Own products.

Watch this space for some more Nail Art designs.
