Sssnake Nailsss

Hi guys :)
I saw these snake print nails on another blog a while ago, so I thought I'd give it ago.

I used Nails Inc Basil Street (which I got free with Glamour Mag) for the base coat.
Then I added four chocolate brown diamonds.
Finally I added the black line detail with my Models Own Art pen.
It looks even better now I've added a clear top coat.

So guys...you like?

My Poor Bank Card :P (pic heavy)

Hi guysss,
I was going to do a post showing some of my recent buys (my bank card have been very over used this month) I've brought a lot of new outfits that I was going to show you but I haven't been very well so I don't want to scare everyone off with my bright red nose and droopy eyes :( sooo I've just got a few little snaps I'll show you instead :D

I picked up a bargin with this cute ring from topshop :) reduced to £3.50

We have had a new shop open in Wolverhampton, internacionale. They were promoting a buy one get one half price so I brought two new jumpers :) This is the one I had for half price, it should have been £12.99

This is one of my outfits that I did manage to get a photo of...
  • Owl Jumper - Select £16
  • Legging/Jegging - Select £12
  • Boots - Newlook £19.99 (should have been £39.99!)
We have recently had a Select open in Wolverhampton and I love it. They have some really cute stuff and all reasonably price & have a 15% student discount.
I loveee this owl jumper its so cozy :D and the legging/jeggings are amazing! They look like coloured jeans but and as comfy as leggings (I now own three different colours :| but so worth it)
And finally (for the clothes) I made the most of newlooks recent V.I.P. event. When they did a 50% of winter wardrobes I brought myself this box cardigan...
It should have been £34.99 but was reduced to £17.50.
So some nice little bargins for the winter :D
I also indulged in a little pick me up from Lush. I haven't ever brought from Lush before but the smell always draws me in, so I brought a Cinders bath bomb (£1.95)

I'm easliy amused, so when this wizzed around my bath tub I was amazed :D
I tried it out last night and I am hooked! I'll definatly be buying more Lush products :)

So what'cha think?

Winter Wonderland Nails

Hi guysss :)
As promised here's another winter inspired nail design.

I thought I'd have a go at sponging :) to create a snowy effect. Its an effective technique but pretty messy :)
Here's how I did it...
  • I used Barry M Navy for the base coat (two coats if you want a really deep blue)
  • Then once the blue was dry I dripped some white nail varnish onto some paper
(it would probably be better to use something like foil because the varnish did soak into the paper)
  • Then I used a small make-up sponge, dipped it into the white, and blotted it on top of the blue.
  • Less is more, its best to start at the tip with a faint coat and gradually build up the colour.
  • For a bit of extra sparkle I added some silver glitter on top of the white. If you wanted to bling it up you could add a few silver nail gems :)
So what'cha think? :)

Show Your Spots For Children In Need!

Hi Guyss!!
This Fridays its Children In Need and I'm very much into the spirit of it this year, we do a lot of fundraising for CIN where I work :)
Soooo seen as the opportunity for themed nails came up I thought I'd give it a go :)
This is such an easy design and I found it dried very quickly :) I used the CIN wrist band I brought for inspiration. Here's how I did it...
  • I started with a white base coat, and waited for it to dry.
  • Then I added the yellow and red dots, the two traditional colours for CIN.
If your in a hurry you could leave it at that.
  • I then added the blue and green, filling in the gaps :)
Easy-peasy!
Here's what I used for the spots...
So what'cha think?

P.S. I'm still open to any tips about blog editing and layouts :) all help much appreciated

It Won't Be Long Now...

Hi guys!
First of I'll I just want to tell you my poppy design when down a treat and I've ended up painting it for five members of my family! They loved it :)
Anyway...
Winter is well on its way so I thought I'd get cracking on my winter design nails.
So here's a little sneak peak...

I used the Barry M Grey (293) for the base coat and then added the white on top to create a snow effect. My way of cheering up the grey skys :)
So this is the first of my winter designs but I will have many more to come :)
So guys What'cha think?7

P.S. Guysss! you might have noticed I've tried to have a little re-vamp with my blog, and its pretty amateur. So if any of you have any tips or advice?? I'd be very grateful :)

Remember -11-11-11-

Hi guys
Just a quick one today for remembrance day. Poppies are getting bigger and better every year with different varieties being sold :)
Here's my contribution to today with my poppy nails,

I did tidy them up after :) I've painted my nails as well as my moms and sisters. We are showing our support for the poppy, with all the who-har about banning them -.- I won't get into a political rant but I think its hugely disrespectful.
I hope your all showing your support today :)

For anyone who's interested I brought the Barry M paint from superdrug while its 3 for 2 :)

Galaxyy Nails (Just a Quick One)

Hi guys,
I've seen a few tutorials for the galaxy design nails and I thought I'd have a go myself seen as how its bonfire night soon :)
I had a go but it is a very messy process! I painted a plain black background then sponged on the different colours; white, yellow, orange, blue and grey.

I added white spots on top and a bit of silver glitter, just cause I love glitter :D

I like this design but I think I need to invest in a new black polish because this has chipped really quickly even with a clear top coat :\ never mind, live and learn!
So guys what'cha think?

New Effects Nail Polish!

Hi guys!
Some have you might have seen the offer on 17 products in Boots. If you buy any two 17 products you get a free gift which includes a liquid eye liner, lip gloss, and a silver glittery eye shadow. Very nice for a freebie!

Well I took advantage of this little offer and I brought two new effect nail varnishes; magnetized silver and a black and gold glitter crackle paint.

I'd read about the magnetized nail varnish on a few US blogs and was itching to give it ago, but getting some shipped over would have been wayyy too much on my student budget! Then Nails Inc brought out their version which was over a tenner, which was still pretty pricey but when I saw this one for only £6 I soon snapped it up. And I am pretty impressed with the results. I had a quick play with it but I'll put some photos up next time I use it.
I picked the crackle paint because I like the addition of the glitter, and I thought it would be nice for some Christmas styles. I tested it out with the Barry M Foil Effects silver.

I like the out come, the flash of the camera doesn't show off the glitter very much. I think next time I'd try it with the gold foil effect base instead, to highlight the gold glitter.

So all in all some nice buys :)
What'cha think?
